Corazon (15,702ft/4786m), 1 Day Hike
We’ll leave from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) early in the morning and will drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until getting to the village of “El Chaupi”. We’ll continue driving up until getting the trail head (13,120ft/4.000m), where we will start our hike, the first section we will be hiking up through the small Andean grass. Then we will get on the sandy and scramble section, which it will lead us to Corazon summit (15,702ft/4786m), we’ll have lunch during the hike. It’ll take us about 8 hours round trip. Return to Quito by late afternoon. (BL)

Fuya Fuya (13,986ft/4.263m), 1 Day Hike
We will start early in the morning from Quito, we will get our breakfast on the way, and drive up about 3 hours north of Quito until getting the town of Otavalo, then, we will be driving on a cobbled road the last 20 minutes just before we get to the Mojanda lake (12,139ft/3.700m) which is our starting point, we will follow a trail on the northeast site of the mountain, which connects to the summit, we will be hiking through the Andean short vegetation most of the trail, and we will climb for some minutes an easy section of scrambling just below the summit. Once on the top of Fuya Fuya (13,986ft/4.263m), we will enjoy the wonderful views, take some pictures, serve our lunch and go down to the car. Drive back to Quito by late afternoon. (BL)

Guagua Pichincha (15,696 ft/4.784m), 1 Day Hike
Being one of the closest mountains from Quito, Guagua Pichincha is one of the favourite peaks for acclimatization purposes. We will drive towards south of Quito, for some minutes, and then we will drive up towards west passing the small Village of Lloa (10,827ft/3.300m), we will still continue driving up until getting the 12,795ft/3.900m, where we can park the car, and begin our hike to the Guagua Pichincha summit (15,696 ft/4.784m), we will be hiking up on a car road for 2 hours until getting the refuge, where there is a small trail, which it will connect to crater rim, once here we will just follow this rim all the way to the top. On the summit, if the weather allows, we can appreciate the views of the nice cloud forest to the west and the snow capped mountains to the east. The round trip will take us 7 to 8 hours. Drive back to Quito by late afternoon. (BL)

Rucu Pichincha (15,410ft/4.698m), 1 Day Hike
Being one of the closest mountains from Quito, Rucu Pichincha is one of the favourite peaks for acclimatization purposes. It towers up just above Quito, so it’ll take us 15 to 20 minutes to get to the parking lot (10,827ft/3.300m) by car. From here we’ll ride on the cable car (teleférico) one of the highest in the world, for about 15 minutes up to the trail head (13,451ft/4.100m). From this point, we’ll follow a long ridge which will take us to the base of the summit (15,410ft/4.698m), after traversing north; we’ll continue gaining altitude by hiking on sandy terrain which will lead us to the top. Total hiking time around 5 hours. Return to Quito by late afternoon. (BL)

We’ll leave from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) early in the morning and will drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until getting to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance. From this point it will take us around 30 more minutes to get to the place called “Limpiopungo” (12,139ft/3.700m), where we’ll begin our hike to the base of mountain (14,108ft/4.300m), and this first section we will be hiking up through the small Andean grass. Then we will get on the sandy section, which it will lead us to the Rumiñahui summit (15,203ft/4.634m) we’ll have lunch during the hike. It’ll take us about 8 hours round trip. Pasochoa (13,875/4.230m), 1 Day Hike
We’ll leave from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) early in the morning and will drive southeast for about 1 hour through the Andean highlands until getting to the trail head (10,827ft/3.300m). The hike goes through an amazing primary Andean forest, great for bird watching, like the exotics hummingbirds which could be easily seen at all times during the hike. As we gain elevation we’ll be able to see the surrounding snow caped mountains, such as Antisana, Cayambe, Illinizas, Cotopaxi and even Chimborazo far away to the south in clear days. Once nearing the summit (13,875/4.230m), will be hiking by the ridge of the deep forest covered caldera which takes us to the true summit soon after. It’ll take us about 6 hours round trip approx.
