Climbing in Peru, (14 Days)
Day 1. Arrive in Lima (See level)
If the flight arrives early in the morning, we can visit the old town, “Plaza de Armas”. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2. Lima - Huaraz (10,136ft/3.090m)
We will get the breakfast early in the morning, and then we will be transferred to the bus station to take the bus to Huaraz town (10,136ft/3.090m), the bus ride will take us around 9 hours, Once in Huaraz we will get our hotel and rest the rest of the afternoon. (B)
Day 3. Huaraz - Laguna Churup (14,760ft/4.500m)
After an early breakfast, we will drive for about an hour, where will get our trail head at 10,988ft/3.350m., we will be hiking for some 4 hours to Churup Lake (14,760ft/4.500m), It will take us around 8 hours round trip from Huaraz. Return to hotel in the afternoon. In the early evening, the group will make final preparations for the next coming days, gear check and briefing. Overnight in the hotel. (B/BL)
Day 4. Huaraz - Ishinca Base Camp (14,104ft/4.300m)
We will leave the hotel in Huaraz town (10,136ft/3.090m) after the breakfast around 07h00 and will get in our private transportation to drive to the village of Collon (10,988ft/3.350m), where the donkeys/horses will be ready to carry on our camping and climbing equipment to transport to Ishinca base camp (14,104ft/4.300m), then after we will start our 5 to 6 hours to the hike through the Quebrada Ishinca valley to the camp, we will be hiking into the primary andean forest and after 2 hours hike we need to pay our fee to the Huascaran national park. Once at the camp, we will set up our tents, eat our lunch, and have a relaxing time until dinner at 18h00. Overnight in tents. (B/BL/D)
Day 5. Base Camp - Urus Peak (17,787ft/5.423m)
We will get up early in the morning around 03h00, will get some breakfast, wear on our climbing gear, and around 04h00 start the hike, we will be walking up on a rocky terrain, which will be not too steep (40º), some 2 to 3 hours, until getting to the beginning of the glacier, where we rope up and put the crampons on and continue for one more hour or so to the summit (17,787ft/5.423m), once here, we will have a great views of Ranrapalca, Oshapalca, Tocllaraju, Palcaraju, Ishinca, etc., will get some rest and start going down to the Camp, the round trip will take us 5 to 6 hours. Dinner will be served by 17h00 and overnight in tents. (B/BL/D)
Day 6. Ishinca base camp - Ishinca Peak (18,138ft/5.530m)
We wake up very early in the morning around 02h00, will get a light breakfast, prepare/wear on our climbing equipment and start the hike, the first 3 hours are going to be a hike on a grassy and rocky slopes, until getting to the glacier entrance, where we will put the crampons on and rope up, the first 2 hours here are going to be relatively flat (25º-30º) and easy to go on, but the last hour will be quite demanding steepness up to 50º, and we will reach to the top (18,138ft/5.530m) after 6 to 7 hours, once there we can get a very nice views of Ranrapalca, Tocllaraju, Pucarima, Urus, etc, will get some rest take some pictures and start the descend to the base camp. The round trip will take us 9 to 10 hours. Dinner will be served by late afternoon. Overnight in tents. (B/BL/D)
Day 7. Rest day at Base Camp (14,104ft/4.300m)
This day will be used for relaxing, hanging around, and even there is a place for rock climbing if we still have energy. Dinner and overnight in tents. (B/BL/D)
Day 8. Base Camp - Tocllaraju High Camp I (17,056ft/5.200m)
We will leave the base camp, around 10h00 not before having a good breakfast and prepare our climbing and camping gear, the first 2 hours will be a hike up on a stony slopes, but then it will become a very big moraine with a huge broken stony blocks, it will take us more or less an hour to across this tricky area, until getting to the high camp I (5.000m), we will set up our tents and accommodate our belongings in, the whole hike will take us 3 to 4 hours, the dinner will be served around 17h00. Day 9. Camp 1 - Tocllaraju Summit (19,791ft/6.034m) - Camp 1
We will get up very early around 01h00, will get some light breakfast, we put the climbing gear on and around 02h00 will start our climb towards summit, the first 2 to 3 hours will be going up on moderate glacier slopes, but as soon as we will get to the ridge, it will get steeper up to 50º, and windier, besides there will be a 65,6ft/20m of 80º on the top out. Once on the summit (19,791ft/6.034m) will have the chance to see many peaks like Ranrapalca, Oshapalca, Urus, Ishinca, etc., we spend some time here resting, taking pictures, and will go down to the high Camp. The round trip will take us 9 to 10hours. Dinner will be served by late afternoon and overnight in tents. (B/BLD).
Day 10. Camp 1 - Ishinca Base Camp
We will get our breakfast later around 07h30, will pack all our climbing and camping gear and around 09h00 will start going down to the base camp, that will take us 3 to 4 hours. Once in the base camp we will set up our tents, have lunch, and relax the rest of the afternoon. Dinner will be ready by late afternoon. Overnight in tents. (B/BL/D).
Day 11. Reserve day/ Huaraz
We will use this day in case of bad weather or any eventualities otherwise will spend one more day in Huaraz. (B/BL/D)
Day 12. Ishinca Base Camp - Huaraz
We will get our breakfast around 08h00 in the morning and pack all of our equipment and belongings ready to be carried on the burros(donkeys), and we will start way back to Collon (10,988ft/3.350m), where our transportation will be waiting us to be transferred to hotel in Huaraz town (10,136ft/3.090m). Overnight in Hotel. (B/BL/)
Day 13. Huaraz - Lima
We will get the breakfast early in the morning, and then we will be transferred to the bus station to take the bus to Lima, the bus ride will take us around 9 hours, Once in Lima city we will get our hotel and rest the rest of the afternoon. (B)
Day 14. Flight back home.
Transfer from the hotel to the Airport. (B)
